Beer League just came up on Tubi, so of course I'm going to watch that.
The Artie I'm talking about is Artie Lange. And about once a year, Beacon of Speech co-conspirator Ted asks me, "hey, is Artie still alive?" If Artie was around, he could retort "I would say the same thing about those Beacon of Speech schleps.
This year, I wasn't quite sure.
So, I googled Artie Lange.
Yes, I know he worked on the Howard Stern show.
Yes, I know he was Norm McDonald's side kick on numerous projects.
Yes, I know he was on MAD TV.
Today. What is Artie up to today? It was like google was stuck in 2016.
Went to artielange.com, that website is updated to about 2018, with outdated links and no tour dates.
Went on over to Facebook, there's a post from about a year and a half ago: RIP Pat Cooper. That could be Artie, or it could be whoever manages Artie's page.
Went on over to Instagram, post came up from 2020, but I'm not sure that's the most recent post.
Went to the Artie Lange Patreon, you could still donate money, but the last content is from 2022.
I remember writing about Artie in 2019. I called him a Secret Libertarian.
