When I was working on one of my last articles, I was angry and just wanted the piece to end. I didn't have a good image in mind to promote the article, so I put the simple phrase "The End" in the AI generator.
To me, the picture above doesn't say "the end," but it is one of the most beautiful pieces of "art" I have ever seen. The image speaks to me.
But I didn't really create it, AI created it.
AI is simply "the collective mind."
Even though I don't use AI for writing, this past year I have leaned on it for art. About a year ago, I read that some Wikipedia images were less than transparent when it came to "fair use." (Mostly for Rock Star images.) AI is (more or less) copyright free. The problem when I use AI now is that search engines, mostly Google, don't take the time to see if Beacon of Speech is real or not.
We may suck, but we're very much real.
If we can't consistently prove that we're humans, it may be the end of Beacon of Speech.
Maybe we should swear more. Maybe we should NOT use spell check and load the missive with typographical errors....
Kind of at a loss here. We really are at a "damned if you do, damned if you don't," crossing here.
