Partisan Hack Stephen Collinson rolled of bed this morning out with one of the most amazing spin jobs I have ever witnessed.
"Americans have experienced a Trump presidency that threatened to tear the country apart, suffered through a pandemic that killed more than a million citizens and endured grinding years of economic insecurity caused by inflation and high grocery prices. For most of this year, the former president has promised a second presidency of retribution. President Joe Biden, meanwhile, had been delivering searing warnings that his rival was tarnishing the very soul of America, even as the haunting signs of the president’s advancing age became increasingly painful to watch." - Collinson at CNN
Let's remind the people at home of the FACTS. Donald Trump was president from January 20, 2017 until January 20, 2021. If you're going to blame a president for Covid, that is absurd, but, technically about 400,000 deaths were under Trump and 600,000, and counting, were under Biden. Economic Insecurity? That would also be Biden. Threatening to tear the country apart? That would be the Republicans AND the Democrats. Biden's advanced age? For, AT LEAST, a year, Democrats, including Kamala Harris, hid Joe Biden's rapid cognitive decline. How do I know? Because the Democrats said that Biden was fine, then at the debate, the AMERICAN PEOPLE saw that he wasn't. That did not happen overnight. You can blame Trump for whatever you want 4-8 years ago, but what's happening today is because Joe Biden is president. If that debate didn't happen, we would still be talking about Candidate Biden. If Biden's poll numbers didn't tank after the debate, we would still be talking about Candidate Biden. For the last 4 years, Former President Donald Trump has done nothing but blow hot air. If there was a dour atmosphere in this country 2 weeks ago, you would have to hang that on THE CURRENT PRESIDENT.
And as for Stephen Collinson himself, if Donald Trump was as bad as Collinson advertises, Trump would have put him in jail during his first term. Collinson's Freedom proves that he is nothing but a propagandist. Donald Trump imprisoned no journalists during his term and CNN still exists. It wasn't Donald Trump that drove Joe Biden from the race, it was the leadership in the Democrat Party and their allies in the corporate press.
You know who I kind of like? Tim Walz. He seems like a good dude. How would I know? Actually...
I went to graduate school at Mankato State University (now Minnesota State) between 1995 and 1997. Many of my friends graduated from Mankato East High School. If you're not familiar with the Mankato School District, it is basically cut in half.
Mankato West: West Side of Mankato, City of North Mankato, nearby countryside.
Mankato East: East Side of Mankato, Eagle Lake, Madison Lake.
East and West have a friendly rivalry, but almost everyone I met in Mankato was nice. The intern in my counseling program assigned to Mankato West said that they were a "good group."
Part of that "good group" was Social Studies Teacher and Assistant Football Coach Tim Walz.
But I left Mankato and am now back in the Cleveland, Ohio area working at a local school district. Again, I can't speak to Tim Walz specifically, but in my district, many of the leadership positions in the school belong to football coaches. I would say that it's the best team of football coaches in the county. Just like me, though, they have day jobs. Are they great at their day jobs?
Uhhh, no.
Tim Walz helped Mankato West to a State Championship in Football in 1999. Do I have any doubts he was a good teacher? I do not. Do I have any doubts he was a good coach? I do not. Do I have any doubts he's a good guy? I do not.
But Tim Walz's day job is Governor of Minnesota. Tim Walz did a TERRIBLE job during George Floyd Riots. You know that unrest lasted for 3 years, right? Walz's handling of the situation in Minneapolis should have disqualified him from any government jobs in the future. You're going to promote him because he couldn't control riots that cost over a billion dollars? (And that was just insurance claims the first year.) His job was to keep rioters from burning down the Twin Cities. He failed.
Editor's Note: Every time there's a conversation of a riot, we post the same song.
Would I trust the football coaches in my district to win a big game? I would.
Would I vote for any of them for public office? Uhhh, no.
Go ahead and name the last football coach that translated their successes in football to success in politics.
.....
.....
.....
Would I invite Tim Walz over to my home to reminisce about Mankato, watch a game, and talk football?
Absolutely. (But I'm not going to vote for him.)
