I keep reading at Second Take how Ohio State is overrated, Michigan is going to return to the Big 10 Championship Game, and the new West Coast teams are going to stomp over the Minnesotas and the Iowas of the world.
All of that is wrong.
Ohio State is loaded.
Michigan is going to take a precipitous fall.
And, with the exception of Oregon, West Coast teams are going to struggle. Not because they're bad, but because the extra cross-country travel is going to hurt 100+ college students that probably won't have the luxury travel accommodations of NBA teams.
So with that being said, here's our Big 10 predictions:
Oregon 11-1
Ohio State 11-1
Wisconsin 10-2
Iowa 10-2
Washington 9-3
Penn State 9-3
Rutgers 8-4
USC 8-4
Michigan 7-5
Minnesota 7-5
Nebraska 7-5
Maryland 6-6
Northwestern 5-7
Michigan St. 4-8
Illinois 4-8
UCLA 4-8
Indiana 4-8
Purdue 3-9
You think my predictions suck? Your predictions suck!
If you're 16 years old, this is the best time ever to be a college football fan.
EA College Football is one of the most popular video games in the country.
There's a proper college football playoff. (Which should have been instituted 100 years ago.)
And athletes are being paid. (Which should have happened 50 years ago. Not paid by schools, but the Olympic Model of owning your own likeness.)
The only fly in the ointment is Conference Alignment. How hard is it to have four major conferences? One out West, one in the East, one in the Midwest, and one in the South?
Those responsible can suck eggs--
