Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud is a Libertarian's Friend

Within the last week:

Russia used Iranian Drones to bomb Ukraine.

Russia allied with Saudi Arabia to fix oil prices.

The United Arab Emirates reached out to Russia.

You know what? As a libertarian leaning website, I must admit, I'm glad Putin is making new friends. He can leave Ukraine alone and let them join the European Union.

As a matter of fact, Putin "the Uniter" can forge all the friendships he likes in the Middle East. Pull America out of the Middle East altogether, just ignore it like we ignore Africa.

Dictator Putin can use his charisma to charm the corrupt Middle Eastern Mullahs, Princes, and Despots to all set aside their differences and unite against the USA. Putin's "steady hand" could guide a Middle Eastern Union that could rival the European Union.

We have our own oil, we can dig it out of the Alaskan frozen tundra.

You are screaming that a Middle Eastern Union would never work, don't I know the difference between Sunnis and Shiites? I sure do. That wouldn't be our problem anymore.

The new Middle Eastern Union, or the Islamic Eleven, if you will, would be Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Syria, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Pakistan, and Bahrain. They would set aside their historic differences, not unlike warring brothers, and unite behind Putin's sphere of influence.

You can't include Yemen or Afghanistan, they're too messed up, even by Middle Eastern standards.

What does Saudi Arabia have other than oil and sand? (Unless you are a Muslim, I know about Mecca, too.) You want to argue that the Saudi's have one of the great metropolises of the modern era in King Abdullah's Economic City?

In 2005, King Abdullah announced 6 megaprojects, with the Economic City being the only one that actually came to pass. The Economic City was meant to be a Middle Eastern Engine with 2 million professional citizens. 17 years later, 2 years past its supposed completion date, the Economic City has a population of 7,000 and only a tiny fraction of actual completed development.

So if Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud wants closer ties to Russia and he's the catalyst for us leaving the Middle East, so be it. His unending quest for a futuristic Saudi Arabia matches Putin's unrealistic vision of Old World Domination

There's lots of problems on our doorstep. There's an unending Drug War in Mexico, gang violence plagues Central America, and Haiti is a straight up Shithole. Maybe we should pull out of the Eastern Hemisphere all together and focus on the Americas.

Straight from the Libertarian Party itself:

3:1 National Defense

"We support the maintenance of a sufficient military to defend the United States against aggression. The United States should both avoid entangling alliances and abandon its attempts to act as policeman for the world."

You counter that we can't abandon Israel or Europe? Okay....

Let's at least agree to taking the first step of vacating the Middle East. Instead of Europe or America, Putin can welcome Syrian refugees by the thousands.

You say the Middle East will descend into war? How is that different from today?

Putin and Al Saud,

two peas in a pod.
