We are going to make this short and sweet.
Every team sport in college has had a playoff, and has had one for, at least, 50 years.
Every-
Single-
One.
Every football division, except Division I (FBS) has had, at least, an 8-team playoff for, at least, 50 years.
Every-
Single-
One.
There should have been, at minimum, an 8-team playoff in Division I (FBS) football, for 100 years.
But regional interests and Bowl officials prevented the crowning of a true national champion until this year.
This year was the first year of the 12-team playoff bracket. It should always have been between 8 and 16 teams.
So, congratulations to The Ohio State Buckeyes, who won the Championship ON THE FIELD, instead of based on the whims of poll voters.
You're a hater screaming about NIL money?
College Football athletes should have been able to cash in on the Olympic Model of sponsorship as soon as those Olympians did.
Period.
