Duh.

Jimmy Haslam has no real interest in a civic partnership.

None.

We have written about this ad nauseum:

If Mayor Bibb is just now figuring out that the Haslams are looking to jam everyone involved for their $2+ billion stadium, then Bibb is an idiot.

The Haslams are all about the Haslams.

cleveland.com has had Browns-favorable coverage throughout the stadium proposal process, but even that tide is starting to turn, as shown in the above graphic.

The state doesn't have their portion of the money.

The county doesn't have their portion of the money.

The city of Brookpark is examining their part of the deal. They say that it's a good deal for them, starting in the year 2045. Brookpark is also worried about any unanticipated financial shortfalls. They're afraid that the language of the deal puts an undue burden on the city if certain financial goals aren't met. So far, the Browns haven't changed the language of the deal to provide a Safety Net for Brookpark.

People shout me down on social media all the time that the Browns aren't going anywhere. Rams owner Stan Kroenke lied to St. Louis over and over and over before he moved the team to L.A. Until Haslam signs something saying that he's staying in Northeast Ohio, you treat him like any other scumbag owner that threatens to move the team, like Stan Kroenke. For Bibb to be shocked this late in the game shows a naivety that borders on the incapable.
