9/12: What We SHOULD Have Done

All weekend I have been seeing the 9/11 "Never Forget" Memorials. We should never forget, never forget that the 9/11 response was mostly wrong.

This is not revisionist history. I have been saying the same thing into void of space since 9/11. After the attacks on the twin towers, I said you needed to find out where the perpetrators were from and bomb the hell out of that place.

And that's it.

No nation building.

No long term wars.

No United Nations.

The United States got punched in the mouth, you kick the nation responsible in the teeth.

That's not what we did.

Fuck the Middle East

There's Too Many Problems

They Just Get in the Way

We Sure Could Live Without 'Em

They Hijack Our Planes......

The lyrics above were from the punk song Fuck the Middle East by the Stormtroopers of Death.

IN 1986!

I said it then, and I continue to say it now. As soon as we found out that 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, we should have bombed Saudi Arabia immediately. Bomb it to the ground. (Same goes for the United Arab Emirates with 2 hijackers.)

How could I say such a thing? Listen, international relations are seen through a complicated political prism. There are many factors when dealing with any nation, but when an event like 9/11 occurs, something so jarring and seismic that it changes the world across the millennium, it should have re-arranged geopolitical alliances. Stripped them down to the local level.

Let's say I hated Canada. I don't, but we've used this analogy before. I decide that the Satans in Canada need to pay for their nebulous crimes. I recruit 15 of my American friends and we hatch a plan to make Canada pay. I find a friend who agrees with my thinking and he spots me MILLIONS to carry out my scheme. Over a year later we accomplish our diabolical mission.

I am a nobody. I chip away at Free Speech matters in near anonymity in my Suburban Home.

But there is no way that I'm going to stay off of the government's radar with 15 co-conspirators and large money transfers. I'm just not. Now escalate the me bombing Canada story to a more practical analogy.

"Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a son of Yemeni Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden, a billionaire construction magnate with close ties to the Saudi royal family, and Mohammed bin Laden's tenth wife, Syrian Hamida al-Attas." - Google

9/11 wasn't masterminded by a poor anonymous blogger, well off of the public's consciousness. 9/11 was basically done by the Saudi equivalent of one of Donald Sussman's kids from a later marriage. You cannot tell me that the bin Ladens were off of the Saudi Government's radar. You just can't. Now, 20 years later, news is finally leaking out that the Saudis MAY have known more than they let on.

So the 9/11 terrorists succeeded despite being on both the CIA's lists and the FBI's lists, but a failure to communicate helped hijackers to slip through the cracks.

You know why we didn't bomb Saudi Arabia? Because politics said you couldn't bomb your "friends." We didn't like Iraq or Afghanistan, so we bombed them instead, then tried to rebuild their backward ass countries in our image.

You don't nation build assbackward countries.

What did we learn about Afghanistan in our decade+ stay there? If you pay people in Afghanistan, they will fight. If you don't pay them, they fold like a house of cards.

You think my bombing Canada analogy is stupid? No, it's the crux of the article. Saudi Arabia should have had a pulse on their own citizens. If I really did conspire to bomb Canada, it is the American Government's job to catch me. The FBI and CIA wouldn't say "oh, Fred Hunt doesn't want to bomb America, we'll just let him be. We don't like Canada either." I would be arrested for conspiracy and other terrorist charges.

Saudi Arabia, at the very minimum, knew something was up in America and failed to act.

Every time a terrorist screams "Allah Akbar" and blows something up, we send a first class missile to Mecca and charge the Saudi Royal Family to rebuild it.....

Editor's Note: Wait, WHAT? YOU'RE GOING TO GET US KICKED OFF THE INTERNET! ARTICLE OVER!!!

((Everything in America is ultimately about money. Instead of costing trillions of dollars in Iraq and Afghanistan, we could have just spent hundreds of millions on cruise missiles. You find the dead terrorist, identify their home country, and bombs away. You say that all the countries in the middle east would hate us using that policy? Guess what? They all already hate us and want us to go home.....))

Editor's Note: HEY! I SAID ARTICLE OVER!
