Miscellaneous (Sept 2019)

The song above is called Raised and Erased. It is from the band The Number 12 Looks Like You. The music is an acquired taste, but the video, forget what you saw at the VMA's, this is the video of the year, hands down. This is art.

I read an article about the greatest Pre-Season players in the history of the "New" (since 1999) Cleveland Browns.

And whenever I think of pre-season standouts, I think of the Legend of Ben Gay. So when I read about meaningless football games, I noticed no mention of Garden City Community College's Benjamin Gay. I made a short crack about it at cleveland.com and got banned.

I speculate that no one read the comment, I was simply banned by an algorithm for using the word Gay in a football story....

<sigh>

Ever since my article on Mass Shootings

Time Stamp for the West Texas shooting: 11:35:34 am on Sept. 1, 2019

At the same exact time of the West Texas shooting, there was a mass shooting at an Alabama High School Football Game

Within 24 hours, the Alabama shooting was already out of the news cycle. Why? Because it did not advance the CNN narrative of what is happening in this country. There's something definitely percolating in America, but CNN is missing out on the whole story.

They're telling about half the story....

The Pope's rationale is that the Americans are upset with his teachings. The Pope is sticking by religious philosophies that are inherent to church tradition and are found in the Bible, such as his Pro-Life Stance and Priest Eligibility Issues . Even if I don't agree with all of his teachings, I respect that he reminds Americans that he's the man in charge on Earth.

And, of course, he's missing half the story.

The Pope is also upset that the Americans keep talking about the Church's Issues with Sex Abuse Scandals. The Pope should be ashamed that he hasn't attacked that problem by opening up his workforce to criminal proceedings. There is no honor in protecting Criminal Priests. Every time a reporter brings up the topic, it is the reporter that is doing the Devil's work according to the Pope. The Catholic Church has had fifty years to clean up its act. No other employer in America, NONE, has done less to protect children from Pedophiles. If Pedophile Priests were sent to jail, that would solve some of the Church's Issues.

(Ahh, but may exacerbate the Church's Priest Shortage Problem.)

Leslie Jones announced she was leaving Saturday Night Live after nearly five years. I'm not the biggest Leslie Jones fan, but I was stunned to find out that she's older than I am. She joined the cast at 47 and is leaving at 51. Remember when Chevy Chase left SNL? He was 33.

Bill Murray was 30 when he left SNL. When he was 51, he was an old man on the critically acclaimed comedy film The Royal Tenenbaums.

Gilda Radner was 34 when she left SNL. Radner died of cancer at 42.

John Belushi was 30 when he left SNL. He died 3 years later.

Jane Curtin was 33 when she left SNL. As a matter of fact, when Jane Curtan was 51, she was in the middle of her second successful sitcom, 3rd Rock from the Sun.

Dan Aykroyd was 27 when he left SNL. At 51, Aykroyd had already starred in 50 films.

SNL being loaded with comedians in their 40s and 50s really rubs me the wrong way. The Not-Ready-for-Primetime Players are all now Middle-Aged Players. SNL is now the establishment that SNL railed against in its formative years.

"Some days I hate the circus of the NBA," Durant told the WSJ

That would be like PT Barnum saying "some days I hate the Circus."

Why the correlation? Because Durant helped CREATE the circus of today's NBA.

Fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me twice, shame on me. (PART II)

Cleveland.com sucks. They HAVE to know I have my own Blog. They HAVE to be goading me, right?

And then, finally, cleveland.com got in the last word:
